Pendulum × Brass Spiral × Gold
This spiral brass pendulum has a thin gold layer and hangs from a chain of the same material.
Pendulum use is an age-old way to find answers to all your questions. Whether or not you should apply for that new job, whether you should really take that trip, or whether your partner is truly the right one for you. Of course, you can wait for that one insight, but you can also search for the answer to your question by using a pendulum.
What is commuting?
Pendulum dowsing is a way to find answers to all your life questions. You use a pendulum for this. This is a piece of metal, gemstone, glass, or wood attached to a chain or string. It's shaped like a teardrop. A pendulum is also called a pendulum, which is Latin for "pendulum."
The pendulum can help you access information hidden deep within your subconscious. Your subconscious is what moves the pendulum in a specific direction. From that direction, the answer to your question can then be read.
Is commuting dangerous?
Many people wonder if dowsing is dangerous. Generally, it isn't. It's a misconception that dowsing is something occult, and it has nothing to do with spirits or angels. The pendulum moves because your subconscious mind controls it (via microscopic, unconscious muscle movements).
So, as long as you're using the pendulum to connect with your subconscious, there's nothing to fear. Before you start dowsing, set a clear intention that you're only seeking answers from your subconscious. The tool won't simply bring you into contact with something you haven't asked for. We don't recommend using the pendulum with any other intention, just as you shouldn't use it to find answers to health questions.
Also important: use the pendulum sparingly. As tempting as it may be to consult the pendulum for every question you can think of, it's best not to. Make the pendulum a pleasant tool, but don't make it more important than that.
How should you commute?
First, it's good to know that anyone can use a dowsing device. You don't need any special gift or skill; it's simply a matter of practice. We also recommend following the steps below.
Step 1: Choose a pendulum and pendulum board
To use a dowsing device, all you need is an open mind, a pendulum, and a pendulum board. Choosing a pendulum is a personal matter: trust your intuition to choose the one that suits you. What feels good? What do you find beautiful?
You can make your own pendulum board, but it's also nice to buy a beautiful one. This way, you can make your pendulum session extra special. A pendulum board offers various answers to your yes/no questions. There are several variations, but to keep things simple, we recommend starting with a pendulum board with "yes," "no," or "other question" as answer options.
Step 2. Get to know your pendulum
Getting to know your pendulum is essential for smooth cooperation. You do this by asking questions to which the pendulum can respond with "yes," "no," or "maybe." First, you want to know which movement represents which answer. So ask questions you know the answer to (Is it my birthday tomorrow? Do I have two brothers?) so you can determine what your pendulum is doing. Then write this down.
There are three possible directions of motion: left to right, forward to back, or in circles. While dowsing, keep your elbow on a table (or another stable surface). Hold the string between your thumb and index finger so that the pendulum hangs in a perpendicular line.
Step 3. Get in the mood
Clear your mind before you start using the pendulum. This isn't a quick activity. So make sure you can focus on the interaction with your pendulum. If you're too restless, your pendulum will vibrate and nothing else will happen. So really try to put your shopping or to-do list aside for a moment. Then, have a relaxed conversation with your pendulum. Speak as if it were a friend asking for advice.
Step 4. Be open
Pendulum dowsing is a way of talking to your higher self, your subconscious, perhaps even a guide. Focus on what feels right for you and don't be alarmed by what happens. If you're nervous, don't ask questions about the future, just about your feelings. If you're skeptical, test your pendulum with questions about the near future (Will my train be delayed tomorrow? Will I be called by...?). Don't ask questions based on something you're really hoping for. You'll be steering your course and won't get an honest answer.
Step 5. Be clear
To get clear answers to your questions, it's helpful to think ahead about exactly what you want to know. What are the possible answers? And do you know the direction of movement for each answer? It's easiest to start with yes/no questions (see point 1). Check carefully what "yes" means to your pendulum and what "no" means. This will also make it easier for you to decipher what your pendulum is trying to tell you. For example, you could ask (a variation of) one of these questions.
Step 6. Practice, practice, practice
Take notes on what you discover. Does your pendulum not work right away? Don't worry, it might not be the right pendulum for you, or you might need more time to open yourself up to the answers. Using a pendulum and becoming more intuitive is a process. Don't spend too much time at first. Choose one question to focus on. If it doesn't work, it doesn't mean you can't use a pendulum. Anyone can use a pendulum; it just takes some time to get used to your pendulum, the pendulum itself, and to open yourself up to the answers.
